Job summary

BDC, the bank dedicated to Canadian entrepreneurs, seeks an Associate in Growth & Transition Capital in Edmonton. You will evaluate, structure, and execute financing transactions supporting growth, ownership transitions, mergers, and acquisitions.

Working as part of the deal team, you will perform investor-grade due diligence, financial analysis, and transaction assessments. Your work supports Canadian businesses and BDC's portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in finance, accounting, business administration or equivalent.
• At least 3 years in financial advisory, transaction services, corporate finance or related areas.
• Experience with financial analysis, modeling and forecasting.
• Due diligence experience for financing, investment or M&A.
• Knowledge of credit analysis, investment analysis, risk evaluation.
• Strong written and verbal English communication; ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed financial analysis and financial modeling to support investment decisions.
• Conduct market research, industry benchmarking, and valuation assessments.
• Prepare SWOT analyses to evaluate risks.
• Review financing proposals for alignment with credit/investment standards.
• Support due diligence activities and development of financing proposals.
• Monitor Growth & Transition Capital accounts with risk oversight.
• Identify opportunities to connect clients with BDC Financing and Advisory Services.
• Manage transaction processes and client communications.
