Job summary

Dorothy Ley Hospice is seeking an Events & Communications Associate in Toronto to support fundraising events, donor stewardship, and organizational communications. You will manage logistics, registrations, and reporting while helping craft newsletters, social content and donor materials.

Ideal candidates bring a diploma/degree in communications or fundraising, at least 1 year of relevant experience, and proficiency with Canva, Mailchimp, and Microsoft 365. Weekend/evening availability is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in communications, marketing, fundraising, event management or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
• Experience with social media platforms, Canva, Mailchimp and Microsoft 365.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Effective and efficient organizational and time management skills.
• Availability for occasional evening and weekend work.
• Experience with Raiser's Edge is an asset.
• Prior experience in hospice, health care or non-profit organizations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and execution of fundraising, stewardship and organization-wide events.
• Coordinate registrations, logistics, vendors and volunteers; assist with sponsorship fulfillment.
• Create social media content and manage posting schedules; draft newsletters and event promotions.
• Update website content and maintain publication inventory; assist with Canva-based design.
• Assist with direct mail and online fundraising campaigns and donor stewardship.
