Job summary

Kassen Recruitment is seeking a General Accounting Associate to join its Finance team in Toronto. The role focuses on accounts payable while supporting broader general accounting tasks.

You will collaborate with finance, operations, and client-facing teams to ensure accurate records and timely reporting. The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of accounting experience, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 2-3 years of accounting experience; not-for-profit or financial services experience is a plus.
• Experience with accounts payable and general accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, coding, reconciliations, and payment preparation
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure transactions are recorded promptly and accurately
• Respond to vendor and internal inquiries while investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Assist with account reconciliations, month-end and quarter-end activities, and routine journal entries
• Support financial reporting by preparing schedules and assisting with ongoing accounting processes
• Collaborate with finance, operations, and client-facing teams to ensure efficient workflows
• Participate in cross-training initiatives and provide support across the accounting team as needed
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and contribute to operational efficiencies
