Job summary

TekWissen Group is seeking an Installation Technician to provide on-site IT support across Manitoba client sites. You will perform hardware installation, image deployment, and initial setup to ensure end-user devices are ready for operation.

The role requires hands-on technical skills, strong troubleshooting ability, and coordination with deployment teams. The position is based in Winnipeg with on-site service responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience performing on-site IT support and resolving complex issues.
• Ability to configure hardware, install software, and image systems using standard guidelines.
• Experience with network setup, device provisioning, and data transfer between old and new systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support for internal or external customers in resolving technical issues.
• Troubleshoot software and hardware issues on laptops, desktops, tablets, smartphones, and printers.
• Perform hardware upgrades and maintenance as requested.
• Set up IT hardware at client sites and ensure proper configuration and connectivity.
• Unpack and deploy new IT hardware, verify imaging, and ensure operational readiness.
• Coordinate with Deployment Coordinator for follow-up actions as needed.
• Use SCCM tooling for imaging procedures in staging environments.

Job Description

• Responsible for providing onsite support tinternal or external customers in resolving complex or escalated technology issues.
• They ensure the proper day-to-day operation of applications and equipment and troubleshoot on-site software and hardware issues on laptops, desktops, tablets, smartphones and/or printers.
• Resolve higher level support tservers, and/or network equipment or perform updates, repairs, upgrades, backups, and other maintenance tasks.
• Set up computer and related equipment hardware on the work bench with network and power connections
• Validate system was pre-imaged with correct and approved image
• If there are additional hardware upgrade options purchased (such as additional RAM, graphic card, OPAL hard drive), this hardware upgrade equipment must be installed by a qualified technician in the appropriate computer.
• Confirm that all IT Hardware is operating tmanufacturer specifications; Any IT Hardware faults discovered must be repaired under approved OEM warranty prior tdeployment.
• Perform any configuration setup as documented in standard installation guidelines; for example, installation of business unit approved SCCM pre-built software packages (if applicable)
• For IT Hardware installations at sites outside of the staging facility:
• Re-pack IT Hardware, if applicable, apply provided shipping label sthat it is ready for shipping utilizing in-house mailroom services tship equipment tuser location.
• Installation Technician loads and transports IT Hardware texternal site for installation.
• On-site installation locations may be any location in Manitoba that is a client site.
• The Installation Technician will unpack (where applicable) and set up new IT Hardware at the end user location, replace existing IT Hardware at end user location, perform network connection and configuration (where applicable), transfer any data from old computer tnew computer (where applicable), provide basic orientation tend user tensure new IT Hardware is operational, ensure installed software is configured tend user’s expectations, and arrange for existing IT Hardware tbe returned tsurplus location; In the event of any unresolved issues, the technician shall inform the Deployment Coordinator before leaving end user’s location tarrange appropriate follow-up action;
• Perform image procedure using approved infrastructure, tools (i.e. SCCM) and provided guidelines at the staging rooms
