Qualifications

• 10–15 years of relevant industry experience.
• Bachelor's/University degree in a relevant field.
• Experience delivering IMA components (ES, NMRF, RFET, PLAT, etc.).
• Strong Market Risk experience; familiar with HVaR model management.
• Experience with FRTB or other front-office regulatory initiatives.
• Experience with derivatives trading, risk and P&L flows.
• Proven track record in strategic project management and large-scale delivery.
• Capital Markets transformation experience.
• Excellent communication; ability to advise senior stakeholders.
• Ability to influence across a global organization.

Responsibilities

• Part of the IMA project ensuring timely delivery across workstreams.
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements with Tech teams.
• Manage dependencies across Risk, Front Office, Product Control and Technology.
• Identify risks and escalate with stakeholders; produce updates for forums.
• Build strong relationships and drive a joined-up program execution.

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an IMA Project Manager for a contract assignment with one of our premier financial services clients in New York, NY and Mississauga, ON.
Responsibilities :

• The role will be part of the IMA (Internal Models Approach) project charged with ensuring the timely execution of deliverables across all workstreams whilst imparting subject matter expertise and know-how.
• Transformation / change management / PM experience with a focus on Capital Markets initiatives to address regulatory, audit, risk and control and / or risk management issues
• Working knowledge of Markets business, products, regulatory capital and Market Risk (VaR) or Credit risk
• Ability to influence and build collaborative relationships across Global Markets front-to-back stakeholders, e.g., trading desk, finance, operations, technology, risk management
• Manage multiple stakeholders to derive business requirements and assist Technology in understanding to allow them to translate into technical requirements
• Manage internal and external dependencies across initiatives, including working closely with Risk Managers, Product Owners, Front Office, Product Control and Technology teams
• Identify challenges and proactively seek to resolve or elevate risk and issues in a timely and well-articulated manner to the projects by engaging relevant stakeholders and PMs
• Produce accurate and insightful project update materials and artifacts, tailoring to various forums and committees
• Build strong relationships, adopting a joined up approach, to support the execution of programs
  

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant industry experience
• Bachelor's/University degree in relevant fields
• Experience with delivering IMA specific components (ES, NMRF, RFET, PLAT, etc )
• Strong Market RIsk Experience and familiar with HVaR model management
• Experience with FRTB and/or other material front office driven regulatory initiatives
• Experience with derivatives trading, risk and P&L flows
• Strong & proven track record in strategic project management and delivering complex solutions are essential
• Has significant experience in Capital Markets Transformation
• Excellent oral and written communications skills; must be articulate and persuasive with the judgement and authority to provide insightful commentary to senior stakeholders
• A solid understanding of mechanisms to track and communicate performance
• Ability to drive change to business practices by working effectively across a global organization and understand different perspectives
• Thought leadership in target state design through engaging stakeholders at various levels of the organization
• Demonstrated analytical skills with follow-up and problem solving capability
• Must be an individual experienced in project management and with sufficient subject matter expertise in capital markets products and business lines to be able to provide meaningful solutions that are functional and sustainable.
  

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in Markets, Risk and Regulatory related projects/programs
• Master's degree preferred
• Project Management certifications e.g. PMP or equivalent a strong plus
• Experience with JIRA and Agile tech framework.
