Job summary

Vaco seeks a Financial Analyst – Financial Reporting and Policy for a 6-month engagement, with potential extension, in the Greater Toronto Area. You will prepare year-end reports, interpret IFRS requirements, and act as a policy adviser to finance and business stakeholders.

The role emphasizes IFRS, ICFR, and strong Excel/Power BI capabilities, with SAP S/4HANA/Fiori considered a plus, and collaboration across audit and management teams.

Qualifications

• CPA designation (CA preferred) and IFRS/IAS knowledge.
• Experience with external reporting under IFRS in a retail context.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Power BI familiarity.
• Experience researching accounting issues and preparing memoranda and policy documents.
• Strong ICFR understanding and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reports and analyses for year-end audit and stakeholders.
• Interpret IFRS requirements for complex transactions.
• Advise on IFRS policy and provide memoranda.
• Coordinate internal and external year-end audits.
• Support close cycles and provide insights for senior management.
• Assist with ad hoc financial reporting projects.
