Qualifications

Canlan Ice Sports is currently looking for an Ice Maintenance Person (non-ticketed)

The Ice Maintenance Person is a proactive and hands-on individual responsible for general maintenance to ensure facility upkeep and the timely, safe flooding of ice rinks. Their primary responsibilities include ice resurfacing, edging (operating the Ice Resurfacer), janitorial work, and general facility maintenance.

Responsibilities

1. Perform maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes.
2. Ice Maintenance tasks including:

• Ice Resurfacer operation
• Ice chopping/spudding
• Leveling the Ice
• Ice Painting
• Dasher Board system repair
• Arena Glass replacement

Execute maintenance and repair of facility fixtures and components.

Conduct janitorial duties as assigned, including vacuuming, auto scrubbing, waxing, and buffing in line with established floor care procedures.

Maintain cleanliness and safety of entrances, grounds, and parking lot, including property cleanup, grass cutting, edging, seasonal snow and debris removal.

Perform minor maintenance on facility and ice maintenance equipment, including safety checks, cleaning, waxing, blade changes, and greasing.

Maintain checklists, records, and reports, including Ice Resurfacer sign-out and safety checks.

Qualifications and Education

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license (preferred).

Abilities, Attributes, and Experience

• Experience and training in operation of ice resurfacing equipment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Good communication skills and team-oriented attitude.
• Mechanical aptitude (preferred).
• Trade or janitorial experience is an advantage.
• Organized, self-motivated, and proactive.
