Canlan Ice Sports is currently looking for an Ice Maintenance Person (non-ticketed).

The Ice Maintenance Person is a proactive and hands-on individual responsible for general maintenance to ensure facility upkeep and regular flooding of ice rinks is completed safely and timely. Primary duties include ice resurfacing, edging (operating the Ice Resurfacer), janitorial work, and general facility maintenance.

Responsibilities

1. Perform maintenance tasks following local building and fire codes.
2. Handle Ice Maintenance tasks including:

• Ice Resurfacer operation
• Ice chopping/spudding
• Leveling the ice
• Ice painting
• Dasher board system repair
• Arena glass replacement

Execute maintenance and repair of facility fixtures and components.

Perform janitorial duties as assigned, including checklists, vacuuming, auto scrubbing, waxing, and buffing, following established floor care procedures.

Maintain cleanliness and safety of entrances, grounds, and parking lot, including:

• Property and grounds cleanup
• Grass cutting and edging
• Seasonal snow and debris removal

Perform minor maintenance on facility and ice maintenance equipment, including:

• Ice Resurfacer safety checks, cleaning, and waxing
• Blade changes and greasing machines as needed

Maintain checklists, records, and reports, including Ice Resurfacer sign out and safety checks.

Qualifications and Education

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license (preferred)

Abilities, Attributes, and Experience

• Experience and training in ice resurfacing equipment operation
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Approachable, team-oriented, with strong communication skills
• Mechanical aptitude (preferred)
• Trade or janitorial experience (advantageous)
• Organized, self-motivated, proactive
