Canlan Ice Sports is currently looking for an Ice Maintenance Person (non-ticketed).

The Ice Maintenance Person is a proactive and hands-on individual who performs general maintenance to ensure facility upkeep and regular flooding of ice rinks is completed in a timely and safe manner. Their primary responsibilities include ice resurfacing and edging (operating the Ice Resurfacer), janitorial work, and general maintenance of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes.
• Responsible for Ice Maintenance tasks including:
• Ice Resurfacer operation
• Ice chopping/spudding
• Levelling the Ice
• Ice Painting
• Dasher Board system repair
• Arena Glass replacement
• Execute maintenance and repair of facility fixtures and components
• Janitorial duties as assigned, including checklists, vacuuming, auto scrubbing, waxing, and buffing per established procedures
• Ensure entrances, grounds, and parking lot are clean, clear, and safe, including:
• Property & grounds cleanup
• Grass cutting and edging
• Seasonal snow and debris removal
• Perform minor maintenance on facility and ice maintenance equipment, including:
• Ice Resurfacer safety check, cleaning, and waxing
• Blade changes and greasing as needed
• Maintain checklists, records, and reports, including Ice Resurfacer sign out and safety checks

Qualifications and Education

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Valid driver's license (preferred)

Abilities, Attributes, and Experience

• Experience with operation of ice resurfacing equipment
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Approachable, team-oriented, with strong communication skills
• Mechanical aptitude (preferred)
• Trade or janitorial experience is an advantage
• Organized, self-motivated, and proactive
