Job summary

GSL Group is seeking an Ice Crew member to support Greater Victoria’s premier sports and entertainment venue. You will help prepare the venue, assist guests, and maintain ice during events at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

This part-time role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and Victoria Royals home games. Advanced skating ability is a plus; you must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and deliver high-quality service with a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• Comfort with manual labor and lifting up to 30 lbs.
• Available for evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ice maintenance during events, including ice scraping during timeouts and intermissions.
• Support setup and teardown for games, concerts and events at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
• Assist with installation, operation and removal of fan engagement activations and interactive event elements.
• Welcome guests, answer questions, and provide exceptional customer service throughout events.
• Respond to patron concerns professionally and courteously.
• Help prepare and maintain facilities, equipment, and event spaces to ensure standards.

As a member of the Ice Crew, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Working alongside the Operations team, you will support daily venue operations by helping ensure the facility is ready for Victoria Royals hockey games, concerts, and other live events.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist with ice maintenance during Victoria Royals home games, including ice scraping during television timeouts and intermissions.
• Support the setup and teardown of Victoria Royals games, concerts, and other events at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
• Assist with the installation, operation, and removal of fan engagement activations and interactive event elements.
• Welcome guests, answer questions, and provide exceptional customer service throughout events.
• Respond to patron concerns professionally, courteously, and efficiently.
• Help prepare and maintain facilities, equipment, and event spaces to ensure they meet organizational and operational standards.

This is a Part-time opportunity that requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and Victoria Royals home games.
