Job summary

Onterris is seeking an Intermediate Hydrotechnical Engineer for our Calgary or Edmonton offices. You’ll lead hydrotechnical design, develop hydraulic models, and manage multi-project delivery while coordinating with regulators and clients to secure approvals.

The role requires a Civil/Environmental/Water Resources Engineering degree, 5+ years of hydrotechnical experience, P.Eng. registration in Canada, and proficiency with HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering.
• 5+ years of hydrotechnical or water resources engineering experience.
• Registered as a P.Eng. in a Canadian province.
• Experience with surface water and river hydraulics.
• Familiar with regulatory approvals processes in Canada.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean record.

Responsibilities

• Lead hydrotechnical design from concept through construction.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications and design briefs.
• Develop hydraulic and hydrologic models to support design.
• Manage projects scope, schedule, and budget.
• Engage with clients and regulators to support approvals.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure safety in planning and field work.
