Egis Canada in Calgary, Alberta, seeks a Senior Water Resources Engineer to lead hydraulic modeling and deliver municipal water and stormwater projects from concept through construction. The role requires 8+ years in water resources, P.Eng., and proficiency with major hydraulic and CAD tools.

You will collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, support regulatory submissions, and help drive business development while ensuring design quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in municipal servicing, land development, or water infrastructure projects.
• P.Eng. license with APEGA (Alberta).
• Proven experience in hydraulic modeling and design of water, stormwater, and wastewater systems.
• Experience with HEC-RAS 1D/2D hydraulic modelling for river, floodplain, etc.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcView GIS, PCSWMM, MIKE Suite, WaterCAD, SewerCAD.
• Strong knowledge of Alberta municipal engineering standards and approvals.

Responsibilities

• Lead hydraulic modeling design and review for municipal water, stormwater, and wastewater systems.
• Deliver engineering design and planning for land development and civil infrastructure.
• Oversee multidisciplinary project teams including engineers and subconsultants.
• Act as technical authority on stormwater, water conveyance, and municipal servicing systems.
• Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, and regulatory submissions.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement with developers, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
• Integrate Low Impact Development and green infrastructure solutions.
• Support business development with proposals and client presentations.
• Conduct quality control and design reviews for compliance and cost-efficiency.
• Monitor regulatory frameworks and industry standards; advise on compliance.
• Promote market presence and client relationships through industry engagement.
