Job summary

Onterris is seeking a Civil CAD Technologist to join our Calgary or Edmonton teams. You will assist multiple projects, collaborating with engineers, scientists and clients to deliver accurate CAD drawings and robust design deliverables.

Requirements include a Civil Engineering Technology credential and 2+ years of CAD experience, with strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills. Field knowledge and willingness to travel are a plus.

Qualifications

• A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.
• 2+ years of CAD or civil design experience, ideally in consulting.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Interest in water resources, municipal, or environmental projects.
• Careful work habits and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage several tasks and meet deadlines.
• Clear, direct communication and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clear, accurate CAD drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D for stormwater and municipal projects.
• Build surfaces, alignments, profiles, sections, corridors, and 3D models from survey data.
• Produce plan, profile and cross-section drawings for design packages.
• Interpret survey data, UAV imagery, and field notes to support designs.
• Complete take-offs to support quantity and cost estimates.
• QA/QC on drawings and maintain CAD standards.
• Coordinate with engineers, scientists, surveyors and clients to keep projects moving.
• Help improve CAD standards, workflows and efficiency.
• Share knowledge and mentor junior team members.
