Job summary

Hydro Ottawa in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking a DSTP Engineer to drive short-term planning of the distribution system, focusing on capacity, reliability and DER integration. Reporting to the Supervisor, Distribution Engineering, the role oversees connection planning and near-term capacity management.

You will perform detailed assessments, issue planning directives, support capital projects and provide technical guidance to field teams, ensuring safety, efficiency and compliance with DSC and OEB

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineer, licensed or able to be licensed in Ontario.
• Experience in customer connection management, distribution design review, and short-term utility execution is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Execute capacity checks, large load inquiries, city circulations and new customer design reviews for effective grid integration.
• Perform Detailed Engineering Assessments, Preliminary Connection Reviews, and Connection Impact Assessments for all DERs per regulatory standards.
• Issue Planning Directives to manage safe, reliable operation of the distribution system.
