Job summary

The Alberta Motor Association (AMA) is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join our Human Resources team in a hybrid role. This 12-month fixed-term position focuses on accurate, timely payroll processing and compliance in a high-volume environment.

You bring 2–5 years of payroll experience, knowledge of Canadian payroll rules, and proficiency with Workday Payroll. You’ll contribute to process improvements while delivering exceptional service to employees and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of hands-on payroll administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
• Experience with Workday Payroll and payroll reporting.
• Proficiency in Excel for payroll analysis and reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly payroll accurately and on schedule using Workday Payroll.
• Validate payroll results with audits, reconciliations and exception reporting.
• Handle off-cycle payments, corrections and year-end adjustments.
• Ensure correct tax withholdings and remittances (federal, provincial, CPP, EI).
• Provide guidance to managers and HR on pay and payroll timelines.
