Job summary

Ecclesiastical Insurance Canada, part of the Benefact Group, is hiring a Payroll and Benefits Specialist in Toronto. You will manage end-to-end semi-monthly payroll for multiple provinces and oversee total rewards programs, ensuring compliance with payroll policies and accurate benefit administration.

You will collaborate with HR and Finance, handle regulatory reporting, and support annual audits. This hybrid role offers a competitive compensation package and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• University degree or college diploma, or equivalent experience.
• CHRP/PCP designations are assets.
• 3–5 years direct experience in payroll and benefits administration.
• Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now is required.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end semi-monthly, multi-provincial payroll including reviewing outputs prior to finalizing and submitting for processing.
• Process payroll changes (new hire, salary changes, retro-pay, top-ups, adjustments, termination pay, ROE).
• Keep abreast of payroll legislation changes and inform relevant teams.
• Prepare reports and reconciliations for payroll accounts and year-end taxes.
• Support annual audit and budget processes with Finance and external auditors.
• Assist on projects to develop/payroll and benefit procedures.
