Job summary

Lerners LLP is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Specialist to ensure accurate payroll, benefits administration, and trusted support for staff and lawyers across offices. This hybrid role requires three in-office days weekly and a focus on compliance, reporting, and service excellence.

You will work with HR, Accounting, and external auditors to maintain payroll accuracy, benefits enrollment, and retirement savings administration across all offices.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Payroll Administration, or a related discipline.
• Payroll experience: 5–8 years in payroll and benefits administration, multi-office environment preferred.
• Knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and benefits administration.

Responsibilities

• Administer bi-weekly payroll for staff and lawyers using the firm’s HRIS and payroll systems.
• Calculate earnings, deductions, taxable benefits, retirement savings contributions, and withholdings.
• Administer group benefit plans and retirement savings programs.
• Prepare monthly payroll and benefits reconciliations and reporting.
• Participate in payroll audits and process improvements.
