The City of Greater Sudbury is seeking an Operations Engineer to support planning, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of water, wastewater, and linear infrastructure systems.

In this permanent, hybrid role, you will manage maintenance and operating projects, provide technical guidance, monitor performance, and collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver safe and reliable services to the community.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering from a recognized university.
• P.Eng. designation in Ontario.
• Minimum three (3) years of related engineering experience.
• Experience with municipal infrastructure, water/wastewater systems, and project management.
• MOE operator certifications are considered an asset.
• Valid Ontario driver's licence and acceptable driving record.

Responsabilités

• Manage maintenance and operating projects, including tender preparation, design, specifications, cost estimates, contract administration, and project oversight.
• Provide technical guidance on infrastructure operations and maintenance activities.
• Monitor and analyze operational performance and recommend improvements.
• Identify and implement best practices, emerging technologies, and process enhancements.
• Collaborate with internal staff, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Participate in hiring processes, employee supervision, and compliance activities.
• Support legal, claims, and regulatory matters related to infrastructure operations.
