Job summary

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary and Area is seeking a Mentoring Coordinator to guide school-based mentoring programs in Calgary. You will establish internal and external relationships, provide match support, and ensure safety and positive youth development for young people.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed practice, collaboration with schools and agencies, and maintaining case records while promoting high-quality program practices.

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in human services field.
• Experience with diverse ethno-cultural communities and youth facing adversity.
• Experience with databases and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
• Additional language besides English is a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for customer service.
• Reliable transportation with $1,000,000 liability insurance and valid license.
• Training and facilitation skills are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Continually assess match relationships to ensure safety and positive youth development and volunteer satisfaction.
• Identify and address barriers to strengthen match relationships and coach mentors.
• Effectively use outcomes measurements and tools to assess match impact.
• Liaise with schools, CFS, and other systems involved with children and youth.
• Support planning and facilitation of wee read and related programs.
• Maintain accurate case notes and data in accordance with standards.
