Job summary

The Region of Waterloo seeks a Hydrogeologist to plan, design and manage municipal groundwater supply projects. You will provide technical guidance on groundwater quantity, quality and protection, and assist in source water protection initiatives.

Responsibilities include reviewing hydrogeologic submissions, developing monitoring programs, and supporting field investigations. Ideal candidates will have strong analytical abilities and the ability to work with diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in hydrogeology or related field and relevant experience.
• Strong analytical, reporting and communication skills.
• Knowledge of groundwater protection concepts and regulations.
• Ability to work in a team and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and manage hydrogeologic investigations for groundwater resources.
• Review submissions from developers and consultants for compliance and risk.
• Prepare documentation for permits and Ministry submissions.
• Support policy development to reduce groundwater risks from land use.
• Coordinate data management and monitoring networks.
• Assist in public consultations and stakeholder communications.
