Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to join our Environmental Services team. The ideal candidate will be based in Waterloo or Ottawa, Ontario, with flexibility for other hydrogeology-centered offices.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality groundwater projects and interact directly with clients. The role emphasizes strong quantitative hydrogeology skills, field investigations, modeling, and regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. in Geoscience or Engineering with hydrogeology focus.
• Minimum 20 years of relevant consulting or regulatory experience with hydrogeologic data.
• Professional registration or eligibility: P.Geo. or P.Eng.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong health and safety culture and participate in Stantec’s Health, Safety, Security, and Environment Program.
• Prepare proposals, develop work plans/budgets and manage projects/tasks.
• Develop preliminary conceptual hydrogeological models to support field program design.
• Design and oversee hydrogeology field investigations, including intrusive investigations.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams on baseline and impact assessment projects, feasibility studies, groundwater and surface water assessments, groundwater flow and transport models, and contaminant investigations.
• Prepare technical reports and client presentations summarizing project work, findings, and recommendations.
• Perform QA/QC of technical documents/deliverables.
• Travel as required to various field sites; overnight travel sometimes required.
• Demonstrate sound application of established practices, standards, and guidelines
