Job summary

Wattpad in Toronto is seeking a Business Finance (FP&A) Manager to own the P&L end-to-end and drive profitability with an ROI-first mindset. You will lead annual planning, forecast models, and cost control across tech, hosting, software, cloud, and security, partnering with Engineering, IT, Security, and vendors for aligned spend.

You will also optimize Marketing, Content, and Paid Content ROI, build business cases, and deliver insights on revenue and margin.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ FP&A, business finance, or corporate finance experience with hands-on P&L management.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace; interest in applying AI tools to finance workflows.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across functions and levels.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines with high accuracy.
• Solid understanding of P&L structure, ROI analysis, and budget/cost management across hosting, software, cloud, and security spend.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own the Wattpad P&L end-to-end and drive profitability-improvement initiatives with an ROI-first mindset.
• Lead the AOP and strategic planning processes; build and maintain P&L forecasts and financial models.
• Own budget management and cost control for technology spend, software/tools, cloud, and security.
• Drive cost efficiency for Marketing, Content, and Paid Content; analyze ROI and optimization opportunities.
• Evaluate investments and vendor contracts on an ROI basis; build business cases and post-investment reviews.
• Act as a trusted finance partner to leaders; deliver actionable insights on revenue, costs, and margins.
• Leverage Google Workspace and Claude AI to automate reporting and accelerate analysis.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and decision support to Corporate Finance and leadership.
