Job summary

isgSearch seeks a Financial Analyst in Toronto for a six-month contract to support monthly/quarterly accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting within a large financial services environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, 2–4 years of relevant experience, SAP experience is strongly preferred, and strong Excel skills. Hybrid work with three onsite days per week is offered; CPA progression is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business or related discipline.
• Approximately two to four years of progressive accounting, finance or financial reporting experience.
• Hands-on experience with month-end and/or quarter-end close activities (journal entries, reconciliations).
• Experience preparing financial reports, account schedules, roll-forwards or other reporting deliverables.
• Experience supporting audit requests and maintaining accounting controls.
• Experience in SAP ERP environment; SAP experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with Workiva is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Progress toward CPA or other recognized designation is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to resolve discrepancies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly and quarterly accounting processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations, supporting schedules and documentation.
• Assist with consolidated financial reporting deliverables and asset roll-forwards.
• Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with affiliated entities to investigate accounting issues and provide reporting support.
• Review financial information for accuracy and compliance with controls.
• Identify opportunities to standardize and automate manual processes.
• Participate in financial reporting and continuous improvement projects.
