Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is hiring a Cost Controller to join our Toronto, Ontario team. The role reports to the Senior Manager, Project Cost Control and focuses on cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for infrastructure projects.

You will collaborate with Project Managers, Construction Managers and Discipline Leads to deliver accurate forecasts, manage change orders, and provide insightful dashboards using Excel, Primavera P6 and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, engineering, construction management or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Cost Control/Project Controls on infrastructure projects.
• Experience with complex contracts, change management, progress payments and integrated reporting.
• Proficiency with advanced Excel, Primavera P6 and Power BI.
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cost control and cost management processes for infrastructure construction projects.
• Monitor project performance by tracking actual costs, commitments, productivity, and progress against budgets.
• Prepare cost reports, variance analysis, earned value analysis, forecast updates, and dashboards.
• Collaborate with PMs, Construction Managers and Discipline Leads to develop forecasts/estimate at completion.
• Evaluate, track and manage change orders, scope changes and claims and their impact on budgets and schedules.
• Support project controls activities to capture cost and schedule impacts throughout the lifecycle.
• Provide project controls insights to Contract Management teams for contractor performance evaluations.
• Participate in project meetings and cost performance reviews for informed decisions.
• Contribute to project risk assessments by identifying potential cost exposures.
