Job summary

Ventum Financial Corp. invites an entry-level Associate to join the Institutional Sales & Settlements team in Vancouver.

The role blends sales support, trade settlements and client service, with an eye toward developing into a client-facing institutional sales position over time. The successful candidate will work with Institutional Sales, Trading, Operations and other Capital Markets areas to ensure timely settlement and execution of client activity while supporting the desk's broader

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in capital markets, financial services, settlements or institutional sales support.
• University degree or college diploma in business, finance, economics or related discipline preferred.
• Strong interest in institutional Sales & Trading and financial markets.
• Exceptional attention to detail and personal accountability.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and other MS Office applications.
• Experience with Bloomberg, trading systems, CRM platforms or securities settlement systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support the Vancouver Institutional Sales team with day-to-day client coverage and sales activities.
• Assist in preparing and distributing research, market commentary, corporate updates and other information to institutional clients.
• Coordinate client meetings, analyst calls, corporate marketing and other client-facing activities.
• Maintain accurate client contact information and internal records.
• Monitor client activity and work with Sales and Trading teams to follow up on requests.
• Prepare daily and weekly sales materials, market updates and internal reporting.
• Develop understanding of Ventum's research coverage and institutional client base.
• Over time, begin direct client relationships and increased account coverage.
