Job summary

Westland Insurance Group Ltd. is seeking a Manager, Accounts Payable at our Head Office in Surrey, BC, with a hybrid work model. You will lead a high-volume AP team, ensure timely vendor payments, and uphold strong internal controls while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

The role emphasizes process improvement, change management, and providing guidance on AP practices to support corporate objectives and performance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field is highly preferred.
• Minimum of five years of Accounts Payable experience.
• At least three years of experience managing a team.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and high-volume financial processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounts Payable team with scheduling, coaching, and performance guidance.
• Oversee daily Payables operations: invoice coding, ERP postings, expense reporting, rent payments, and payment processing to vendors.
• Ensure SLAs and KPIs are met; provide monthly updates to leadership and allocate resources as needed.
• Maintain internal controls with proper duties segregation and compliant approval processes.
• Act as AP SME; manage escalations and ServiceNow tickets to resolve invoice and vendor issues.
• Build relationships with Finance, Operations, and external vendors to advise on AP processes and controls.
• Lead change management and automation projects to improve efficiency and scalability.
