Job summary

The Mason Group is recruiting an Accounts Payable/General Accountant for a federal Crown corporation in downtown Toronto. You will lead day-to-day AP activities and support the broader Corporate Accounting team.

This hybrid role offers in-office 2 days and remote 3 days per week. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in AP and accounting, strong Excel, plus experience with JD Edwards (JDE) and Insight/Hubble; pursuing CPA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in business, finance, or accounting.
• 5+ years of accounts payable and accounting experience.
• Experience leading or supervising staff is an asset.
• Real estate or land development accounting experience is an asset.
• Pursuing CPA designation is an asset.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) and Insight/Hubble is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee weekly supplier payments and employee expense reimbursements by EFT, cheque, and wire.
• Review and approve AP transactions, payment requests, and Master Address Book changes in JDE.
• Ensure payments comply with corporate policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Respond to and resolve internal and external payment inquiries.
• Maintain JDE sales tax tables and support sales tax reviews and annual T1204 submissions to CRA.
• Support interim and year-end audits, as well as SMT and BOD expense disclosure requirements.
• Partner with the AP Supervisor to promote consistent AP practices and best practices.
• Prepare and review corporate payment requisitions and employee reimbursements.
• Record monthly accounting transactions and support monthly variance analysis.
• Assist with budgeting and quarterly and annual financial statement disclosures.
• Provide AP back-up and cross-training within the Finance team.
