Job summary

Jardeg is recruiting HVAC Technician Journeypersons for the Imperial Oil Kearl site in Fort McKay, Alberta. The role operates on a 14 days on, 14 days off schedule with 12-hour days, accommodations at a camp, and charter flights from Calgary/Edmonton to site.

This temporary position runs from Aug 18 to Oct 26 and may extend. You will perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on HVAC systems while ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Provincial journeyperson or Red Seal certification is required.
• Gas A ticket is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance checks across HVAC systems, lubricating parts, monitoring refrigerant charge.
• Diagnose and repair unit issues by replacing controls, wiring or components.
• Repair heating equipment and calibrate gas-related controls; troubleshoot startups.
• Deliver excellent customer service and sustain high customer satisfaction.
• Detect HVAC faults with diagnostic experience; read drawings/blueprints.

Jardeg is recruiting HVAC Technician Journeypersons to join the Heartland Constructors maintenance team at the Imperial Oil Kearl site in Fort MacKay, Alberta. Charter flights are provided from Calgary/Edmonton to site! Shift schedules will be on a 14 days on, 14 days off, 12 hours per day. While working on site, workers will be staying at the Wapasu camp which will provide hot meals, lodging, workout facility, Wi‑Fi and much more!

This is for a temp position from Aug 18 to Oct 26, could go longer.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance work involving checking all parts of a system, lubricating moving parts and monitoring the refrigerant charge.
• Diagnosing and fixing unit problems by replacing or repairing controls, electric wiring or other parts.
• Repairing heating equipment, troubleshoot gas‑fired equipment and calibrate all gas‑related controls.
• Responsible for delivery of excellent customer service and sustaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
• HVAC diagnostic experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot, in addition to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
• Experience using testing equipment.
• Experience with startups of new or adjusted.

Minimum Requirements

• Provincial Journeyperson or Red Seal Certification
• Must complete satisfactory Drug & Alcohol test
• Standard First Aid Level A or C
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License
• Energy Safety Canada Certified Common Safety Orientation
• Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Protection.
• Energy Safety Canada Confined Space Entry and Monitor
• ESTS (Electrical Safety Training Systems)
• Energy Safety MEWP
• Energy Safety Canada Wood Buffalo Awareness
• Basic Rigging
