Job summary
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) seeks a skilled Facilities Technician to support the safe operation of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and building systems in our Calgary area facilities. Reporting to the Facility Manager, you will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, tests, and calibrations to ensure system reliability and safety.
Candidates should hold a Fifth Class Alberta Power Engineer certificate or equivalent and have experience with building automation systems.
Qualifications
- Essential education: Fifth Class Alberta Power Engineer certificate or equivalent; may transfer from other provinces.
- Essential experience: operate and maintain low pressure hot water heating plant; HVAC systems; building automation systems.
- Essential knowledge: operate/building mechanical systems and preventative maintenance concepts.
Responsibilities
- Report to Facility Manager and ensure safe operation of HVAC, boilers, controls and related systems.
- Perform inspections, tests, calibrations, preventive maintenance and repairs to standards.
- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and building systems as required.
