Job Description

• Experience designing Industrial Control Panels with knowledge of UL 508A.
• Previous experience or understanding of commercial Building Management Systems / Building Automation Systems is an asset.
• HVAC equipment unit experience is a must.
• This role has potential to lead to a team lead position, managing several employees.
• Must understand HVAC air handlers, direct/indirect units.
• Understand operational processes, electrical power, electrical controls, and pneumatics.
• This position involves working with multiple disciplines including electrical and mechanical engineering.
• Create bill of materials.
• Manage processes between shop workers and designers.
• Propose ideas and solutions for efficient organizational processes.
• Understand HVAC and electrical parts.
• Candidates with a strong background in HVAC industrial controls, including air make-up units (direct and indirect fired), air conditioning systems (DX, chillers, evaporative), will be preferred.
• Critical thinking skills to analyze solutions and approaches.
• Create wiring diagrams based on project specifications.
• Write sequences of operations for HVAC units.
• Previous programming exposure is an asset.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (intermediate level or better).
• Experience with PLCs and operator interface controllers (HMIs, touchscreens), including Allen Bradley, Distech, or Schneider, is required.
• Motivated self-starter with excellent communication, leadership, and computer skills.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrating achievements and leadership skills.
• Collaborate with design team members and electricians on the production floor.
• Possess Professional Engineering experience with a Master/Journeyman Electrician or Electrical Engineer qualification.
• Knowledge of Canadian and US electrical codes (NEC, CEC, NFPA70) to ensure compliance.
