Job summary

Johnson Controls in Edmonton is seeking an on-site HVAC controls technician to perform system commissioning, troubleshoot basic HVAC mechanical and electrical issues, and respond to warranty calls while delivering high-level customer service.

You will load controller software, diagnose from system controllers to end devices, maintain documentation, and communicate with customers on arrival and departure, all while upholding safety standards and offering improvement recommendations.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree or 2+ years of industry experience servicing HVAC/electronic systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC controls systems and facilities management concepts.
• Strong interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls professionally.
• Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
• PC experience and programming HVAC-related software.

Responsibilities

• Load system-level controller software and perform commissioning.
• Diagnose from system controllers to end devices and document results.
• Keep management and customers informed of progress and issues.
• Calibrate systems with basic electronic test equipment.
• Complete time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
• Document changes for as-built documentation.
• Communicate with customers on arrival and before leaving the site.
• Follow safety standards and complete required safety training.
• Provide recommendations and quotes to improve facility efficiency.
