Daikin Applied Americas invites applications for the HVAC Jr. Maintenance Mechanic role. Based in Ottawa, this onsite position offers formal apprenticeship training and exposure to a range of commercial and industrial equipment, from rooftops to boilers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associate’s Degree or HVAC certificate is preferred.
• 0-2+ years of related experience or equivalent education.
• Accepted as an Apprentice by Local Union 787.
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
• Relevant licenses or training cards as required by local law.
• Rotational Emergency Call Support availability.

Responsibilities

• Participate in formal apprenticeship training programs and complete required technical education.
• Learn operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial equipment and machinery.
• Support maintenance teams in performing equipment repairs and facility maintenance activities.
• Assist with preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Help diagnose equipment issues and support troubleshooting efforts with experienced technicians.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing mechanical components.
• Maintain tools, machinery, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Safely operate and utilize hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and service records.
• Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while performing work.
