Description
You care about people and the details.
We’re looking for a Human Resources Technician who enjoys taking care of people just as much as making sure things are done right. Day to day, you’ll be a go-to resource for managers and team members while helping ensure the quality and accuracy of HR files, data and follow-ups.
With your strong service mindset, attention to detail and sound judgment, you’ll help create a smooth employee experience at every stage, from onboarding to departure. You’ll work closely with the Human Resources and Payroll teams in an environment where priorities evolve and every detail matters.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Respond to questions from managers and team members regarding HR programs, policies and processes.
- Manage administrative follow-ups related to the employee lifecycle, including new hires, status changes, leaves, absences, employee movements and departures.
- Maintain employee files, HR data, seniority lists and related documentation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support the HR team and managers in applying policies and collective agreements, as well as with administrative follow-ups related to labour relations and performance management.
- Work closely with the Payroll team and assist employees with questions related to payroll, benefits, the retirement savings plan and other programs.
- Enter, validate and maintain the integrity of data in the HRIS and contribute to the continuous improvement of HR systems and tools.
- Support administrative follow-ups related to workplace health, safety and well-being, including absences, workplace injuries and return-to-work processes.
- Prepare HR communications and documents and contribute to keeping policies, procedures and tools up to date.
- Produce and maintain HR reports and indicators required for team follow-ups.
- Contribute to HR projects and initiatives, as well as the continuous improvement of our ways of working.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- College diploma in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role, ideally in a unionized environment.
- Good knowledge of HR practices, payroll, benefits and the application of collective agreements.
- Comfortable working with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS); knowledge of UKG is considered an asset.
- Good command of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication skills in both French and English, spoken and written, due to the nature of the role and interactions with English-speaking colleagues and partners.
- A strong service mindset, discretion, attention to detail, sound judgment and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills, a collaborative mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
