Job description

Company Description

Canam Group specializes in designing and fabricating metal components for the North American construction industry. The company operates in the sectors of buildings and infrastructure, with 22 plants across Canada and the United States, and engineering offices in Canada, Romania, India, and the Philippines. It employs over 5,100 people.

Job Description

HR duties include:

  • Full cycle recruitment to meet staffing goals within the plant and office
  • Developing and implementing initiatives for recruiting diverse talent
  • Updating job descriptions, postings, and advertisements
  • Representing Canam Group at job fairs, events, and career days
  • Providing HR support and advising on policies, procedures, employment standards, and the collective agreement
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Training duties include:

  • Developing, delivering, and updating training materials and sessions using adult learning practices
  • Conducting needs assessments and shaping learning solutions
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts to develop training content
  • Supporting employees and fostering training adoption within the facility
  • Participating in continuous improvement processes
  • Maintaining training certifications as per company policies
  • Supporting Health & Safety and HR Managers as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience, with education in human resources management and knowledge in training content development, technical writing, and communications
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, multitasking, and prioritization abilities
  • Analytical mindset with quick learning and information-seeking skills
  • Ability to transform technical content into engaging training tools
  • Proficiency with e-Learning systems and software, with the ability to learn new applications
  • Experience with ESL training and coaching
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; French is a plus
  • Service-oriented, problem-solving skills, effective communication, and flexibility to adapt to changing conditions, including evening and weekend training if required
