Job Summary

The Human Resources Support Representative (HRSR) is part of the Client Service team (CST), promoting collaboration, open communication, accountability, and partnership. The HRSR assists with payroll, recruitment, training, compliance, benefits, and compensation, ensuring client issues are resolved per university policies and collective agreements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to HR inquiries, providing advice on policies, legislation, and collective agreements related to pay, benefits, leaves, and HR systems.
  • Resolve client queries or escalate to appropriate resources, tracking solutions to ensure resolution.
  • Assist with recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate attraction strategies, and resume screening.
  • Support new employee orientation, documentation, and record updates in HR systems.
  • Manage HR PeopleSoft data, support decentralized hiring and time reporting, and troubleshoot payroll issues.
  • Deliver HR PeopleSoft training and develop training content.
  • Conduct benefit, leave, and UHIP meetings with clients.
  • Perform payroll and data audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Identify process issues and recommend improvements.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with HRMS on system issues and support other team members.
  • Undertake additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in HR, Business, or related field.
  • 1-3 years HR generalist experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • CHRP designation is an asset.
  • Proficiency in computer applications; familiarity with PeopleSoft is an asset.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and university policies.
  • Satisfactory criminal record check.
