Job summary

CFMWS in Canada is seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations at an Ontario location. You will manage recruitment, payroll, pensions and benefits, talent management, and learning and development, while ensuring health and safety compliance.

This hands-on role requires collaboration with local management, experience advising on HR policies, and strong communication, organization and leadership skills.

Qualifications

  • Education and licenses as listed: college diploma in HR/related field; CP HR credential is an asset.
  • Experience delivering HR programs and services; advising on HR policies and legislation; personnel administration.
  • Ability to plan and present; strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HR functions at location including recruitment, payroll, pensions and benefits.
  • Advise on HR policies, procedures and legislation; interpret and apply them.
  • Investigate grievances and resolve conflicts with management, employees and unions where applicable.
  • Ensure Health and Safety program compliance.
  • Provide operational perspective on new programs and policies and recommend improvements.

THE ROLE

As a Human Resources Manager, you are responsible for providing human resources functions at your location, including recruitment, payroll, pension and benefits, talent management, job evaluation, recognition and learning and development. You will investigate and analyze grievances and complaints and work with the business, employees and unions (if applicable) to identify sources of conflict and complaints and resolve them to ensure smooth business operations. You will also ensure compliance with the Health and Safety program.

The Human Resources Manager will be asked to provide their operational perspective and expertise on new programs and policies that will impact employees and the business and to recommend improvements to existing programs, policies and processes.

This is a hands-on role, working as a team with local management. If you are passionate about all aspects of human resources and understand the value of people, and are detailed oriented and organized this is the opportunity for you.

Qualifications Needed

Education, Certifications and Licenses

  • College diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field AND several years of experience in human resources, or a related field
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), an asset

  • In planning, organizing, and delivering Human Resources programs and services
  • In providing Human Resources related advice
  • In applying and interpreting human resources policies, procedures and legislation
  • In personnel administration
  • In planning and conducting presentations
Competencies

Language Requirements
  • Bilingual (English and French) Essential
