Qualifications

As a growing small business, we pride ourselves on personalized service, strong community ties, and a dedicated team of caregivers.Position Summary:We are seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources Manager to support all HR functions within our small but growing team. This individual will play a key role in recruiting caregivers, managing employee relations, ensuring HR compliance, maintaining records, and fostering a positive workplace culture aligned with our mission of exceptional care.Key Responsibilities:- Recruitment & Onboarding
- Source, screen, and interview caregiver candidates
- Coordinate background checks, credential verifications, and reference checks
- Manage onboarding and orientation for new hires
- Employee Relations
- Serve as point of contact for employee concerns, providing guidance and conflict resolution
- Foster an inclusive and supportive work environment
- Conduct regular check-ins with field staff
- Compliance & Recordkeeping
- Maintain up-to-date employee files, certifications, and compliance documents
- Ensure company policies are aligned with provincial and federal labour regulations
- Assist with audits and inspections
- Other general office duties
- Training & Development
- Coordinate required caregiver training
- Track training completion and certification renewals
- HR Administration
- Monitor attendance, and employee documentation
- Update employee handbook and HR policies as needed
- Company Culture & Engagement
- Plan staff appreciation events and initiatives
- Encourage employee feedback and continuous improvement
Qualifications:- 2+ years of HR experience, ideally in healthcare or homecare
- Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations (ESA, WSIA, Common Law, OHRC, OHSA)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle sensitive information confidentially
- Experience with applicant tracking systems
- CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain (preferred)
