Job summary

ID Logistics Canada is seeking an experienced Site Human Resources Manager in Milton, Ontario to provide strategic and hands-on HR leadership for a fast-paced 3PL site. You will oversee labor relations, talent management, workforce planning, compliance, performance management, and employee engagement at a high-volume operation.

You will also support global HR initiatives, data accuracy, governance, and reporting, aligning site programs with corporate standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive HR generalist or manager experience, preferably in logistics or distribution.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, labor standards, and workplace health & safety regulations.
  • Experience supporting global HR reporting, governance, or compliance.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (ADP, SuccessFactors) and strong analytical/reporting skills.

  • Partner with site leadership to develop workforce strategies supporting operational goals.

As we aim to accelerate growth in Canada, we are actively seeking an HR Manager at our Milton, Ontario site.

Position Summary

The Site Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing strategic and hands‑on HR leadership for a high‑volume, fast‑paced third‑party logistics (3PL) distribution or fulfillment site. This role oversees all HR functions including labor relations, talent management, workforce planning, compliance, performance management, and employee engagement.

As part of a global organization, this position also plays a critical role in supporting global workforce reporting, data accuracy, adherence to corporate HR governance standards, and alignment with global HR initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
1. Labor & Employee Relations
  • Serve as primary HR point of contact for workforce matters, fostering productive labor‑management relationships.
  • Provide guidance to leaders on employee relations issues, investigations, discipline, and conflict resolution.
2. Talent Management & Organizational Development
  • Partner with site leadership to develop workforce strategies that support operational goals.
  • Oversee recruitment, selection, onboarding, and retention of hourly and salaried staff.
  • Identify skill gaps and coordinate training programs, leadership development, and succession planning.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives at the site level.
3. HR Operations & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with provincial labor laws, employment standards, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS data, personnel files, attendance tracking, and leave administration.
  • Monitor key HR metrics (turnover, absenteeism, safety interactions, productivity trends) and implement improvement plans.
  • Support safety teams to promote a culture of health, safety, and injury prevention.
4. Performance Management
  • Lead the site performance management cycle, including goal setting, coaching, evaluations, and corrective actions.
  • Provide coaching to supervisors and managers to strengthen leadership capabilities and ensure consistent application of performance standards.
5. Global Reporting & Corporate Integration
  • Prepare and submit recurring HR reports, headcount data, KPIs, and analytics to regional and global HR teams.
  • Ensure site data accuracy for global workforce dashboards, compliance audits, and talent systems.
  • Support deployment of global HR programs, policies, HR technology enhancements, and organizational change initiatives.
  • Collaborate with global Centers of Excellence (e.g., Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Learning) to ensure site alignment.
6. Culture, Engagement & Communication
  • Drive initiatives that support a positive, inclusive, and high‑engagement workplace culture.
  • Conduct engagement surveys, focus groups, and follow‑up action planning.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and cultural ambassador for both frontline employees and site leadership.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive HR generalist or manager experience, preferably within logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or supply chain environments.
  • Demonstrated experience working in unionized environments is an asset
  • Strong understanding of employment law, labor standards, and workplace health & safety regulations.
  • Experience in a global organization or supporting global HR reporting, governance, or compliance.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (ADP, SuccessFactors) and strong analytical/reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication, influence, and relationship‑building skills.
