ABB in Canada is seeking an HR Intern to support the HRBP team across our Canadian workforce. The role offers hands-on experience in Workday transactions, employee engagement, DEI programs, and HR analytics in a hybrid work model.

You will assist with onboarding, reporting, philanthropy initiatives, and special HR projects while developing foundational skills in a collaborative environment. Fluency in French and English is required, and familiarity with Office 365 is expected.

Qualifications

  • 3rd or 4th year bachelor’s degree in HR or related field.
  • Strong collaborative spirit with proactive, organized, and adaptable mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in French and English, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Office 365, Teams, and modern collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

  • HR Operations & Workday Administration: Support Workday transactions and HR system actions; perform audits and corrections.
  • Employee Engagement & Experience Programs: Coordinate engagement initiatives, recognition, and communications.
  • DEI & Philanthropy Support: Plan DEI events and philanthropy initiatives; track participation and outcomes.
  • HR Reporting & Analytics: Prepare HR reports and dashboards; analyze trends and improve processes.
  • General HR Support: Assist onboarding and lifecycle processes; participate in special HR projects.

Join us and help run what runs the world.Your role and responsibilitiesThe HR Intern will play a key role in supporting the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) team in delivering exceptional HR support across our Canadian workforce. This role provides hands-on experience in a wide range of HR functions, including Workday transactions, employee engagement, HR reporting, philanthropy initiatives, and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs.This is an excellent opportunity for a student or early-career professional interested in developing foundational HR skills within a dynamic and collaborative environment.The work model for the role is: hybridKey Responsibilities1. HR Operations & Workday AdministrationSupport Workday transactions and other actions in HR systems and platforms.Support data accuracy by conducting audits and assisting with corrections.Respond to HRBP inquiries and escalate, when needed.2. Employee Engagement & Experience ProgramsAssist with the coordination and administration of employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, recognition programs, and social/employee appreciation events.Support the management of employee discount programs and related communications.3. DEI & Philanthropy SupportAssist with planning and communication of DEI initiatives, events, and learning sessions.Support the execution of philanthropy initiatives.Track participation, compile summaries, and prepare follow-up documentation.4. HR Reporting & AnalyticsHelp prepare HR reports and dashboards (e.g., headcount, turnover, engagement activity tracking) under the guidance of HRBPs.Conduct basic data analysis to identify trends and insights.Maintain documentation and help improve reporting processes.5. General HR SupportAssist with onboarding activities (documentation, sessions, preparation).Provide administrative support for employee lifecycle processes.Participate in special projects across HR.Qualifications:In 3rd or 4th year of bachelor’s degree in human resources, management or related fieldsStrong collaborative spirit, proactive mindset, organized and ability to adapt to changing prioritiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English, with strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.Digitally savvy, with strong proficiency in Office 365, Teams, and modern collaboration tools.Familiar with Workday is an assetFrench is required.
