Job summary

Magna International is seeking a Senior HR Generalist to support multiple business groups. The role covers recruitment, onboarding, performance management, policy compliance, audits, and workforce planning.

You will partner with payroll, manage employee lifecycle, and provide guidance on employee relations and disciplinary actions. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in HR, strong knowledge of employment law, advanced Excel skills, and experience with HRIS tools like Workday and Dayforce.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of HR Generalist experience supporting multiple areas of HR, including employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Workday and Dayforce considered an asset.
  • Advanced Excel and data management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible to work varied hours.

Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle for assigned business groups, including hiring, leaves, internal transfers, layoffs, and exit procedures; collaborate with payroll for timely processing.
  • Partner with leaders to attract and select top talent, following established recruitment protocols.
  • Support onboarding and orientation programs to ensure successful integration of new hires.
  • Performance Management: Support the performance review process with tracking, tools, and development planning.
  • Policy Administration & Compliance: Update HR policies to align with employment laws; ensure consistent policy application and provide training.
  • Assist audits and reporting related to compliance, health & safety, and employment standards.
  • Support workforce planning, maintain training matrices, audit training compliance.
  • HRIS & Data Management: Generate HR reports and maintain data confidentiality.
  • Employee Relations: Address concerns, conduct investigations, and guide leaders on disciplinary actions.
  • Terminations & Offboarding: Coordinate terminations with proper procedures and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and partner with payroll.
