In this role you will support all our offices across Canada, with more planned to open over the next few years! You will be the true HR expert and go to person for our Canadian offices, truly taking ownership over the growth and development of our Canadian HR programs and policies.

To be a successful candidate we need to know you are a self-starter (you see the issue, find a solution and implement a plan without needing someone to direct you), you are comfortable working independently and you can prioritize and pivot your day based on the needs of the business (heads up - we are an agile, fast paced company and no two days are alike!).

This is a key role for our Canadian business, so you will truly hold the power to make it your own, so long as you live and breathe our shared values (we really all do this, by the way!) and are confident, eager, and willing to tackle the below priorities.

  • Create and facilitate training to support our Canadian employees and new leaders, including "Welcome Week" training and training related to relevant employment standards
  • Identify and stay up to date on any mandatory training needed for employees across Canada, and ensure this training is assigned to our employees and completed/maintained through our learning management system
  • Identify and solution any employee concerns or related employment risks to the business, bringing to corporate HR and/or the Canadian leadership team in order to proactively strategize
  • Provides daily support to the Canadian offices and consultants in the form of employment letters and verifications, issuing ROE’s, filing Workers Compensation payments, processing terminations and other administrative tasks as required
  • Work alongside our Employee Relations team to investigate and resolve any internal and consultant-related employee relations issues
  • Works as a partner between the Canadian offices and IG Corporate, aligning the business needs and finding solutions to support our Canadian offices
  • Acts as a liaison between identified third-party vendors in Canada and the applicable stakeholders Partners with our internal legal team and Canadian counsel for any employment matters or legislation changes as needed
  • Takes on responsibility for Health & Safety across the offices, ensuring committees are established and meeting regularly (where applicable), or designated H&S representatives are actively involved at each office
  • Develop strong relationships with all employees and leaders across Canada through the creation and enhancement of policies, procedures and programs that will empower our growth in the Canadian market and empower our people to confidently know that they are being taken care of
  • Ensure all employees know they matter, and that their mental health and wellness is a priority by recommending and implementing programs to support them, making sure to teach and train on the benefits available to them and supporting them through all leave options (STD, LTD, Parental Leave, etc).
  • Own Canadian benefits including enrollment and administration for our group benefits plan, RRSP, fertility benefits and employee discount programs
  • Support our Emerging Markets team as they work to grow our presence in offices across Canada, able to research on different regulations and how they would impact the business
  • Align our DEI initiatives and inquiries with Canadian offices and clients in accordance with jurisdictional legislation
