Job summary

JUST HR is recruiting an HR Generalist to join a growing, multi-site organization based in Richmond, BC. You will own day-to-day HR operations, support employees and leaders across Richmond, Delta, and Surrey, and drive HR projects.

You will handle employee relations, policies, health and safety, and onboarding while guiding junior HR staff. Travel between sites is required.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of progressive HR generalist experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of BC Employment Legislation, Employment Standards, and WorkSafeBC.

Job description

JUST HR is recruiting for an HR Generalist to join a growing, multi-site organization based in Richmond, BC. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this role will take ownership of day-to-day HR operations while supporting employees and leaders across locations in Richmond, Delta, and Surrey.

This is a hands-on position for an experienced HR professional who is comfortable managing employee relations, compliance, health and safety, talent programs, and HR projects. You will also help improve processes, provide guidance to junior HR team members, and serve as a key HR resource for managers across the business.

The primary work location is Richmond, with periodic travel to sites in Delta and Surrey.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a key HR resource for managers and employees, providing practical guidance on policies, performance, workplace concerns, and day-to-day HR matters.
  • Manage employee relations issues, including workplace investigations, disciplinary matters, conflict resolution, and terminations.
  • Provide HR support across multiple locations, including periodic on-site coverage in Delta and Surrey.
  • Maintain compliance with BC employment legislation, WorkSafeBC requirements, health and safety standards, and internal policies.
  • Review and improve HR policies, procedures, and employee documentation in partnership with the Director of Human Resources.
  • Oversee benefits administration, retirement programs, disability management, and employee leaves.
  • Support occupational health and safety activities, including incident tracking and WorkSafeBC claims.
  • Partner with managers on recruitment for specialized and key positions while coordinating with junior HR staff on recruitment activities.
  • Strengthen onboarding and offboarding programs to create a consistent employee experience.
  • Coordinate the annual performance management process and support managers with development plans and performance improvement plans.
  • Prepare and analyze HR reporting, including turnover, absenteeism, and compensation data, to support workforce decisions.
  • Identify gaps in HR processes and implement practical improvements to systems and workflows.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to junior HR team members.
  • Support special projects and broader HR initiatives led by the Director of Human Resources.
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of progressive HR generalist experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of BC employment legislation, Employment Standards, and WorkSafeBC requirements.
  • Experience handling employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
  • Experience supporting health and safety, disability management, leaves, benefits, and performance management.
  • Experience in a multi-site manufacturing, plant, or operational environment is preferred.
  • CPHR designation or active progress toward the designation is a strong asset.
  • Solid understanding of payroll processes.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong judgment and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Effective conflict resolution, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to manage competing priorities and work independently.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Cantonese and/or Mandarin is a strong asset.
  • Able to travel periodically between Richmond, Delta, and Surrey.
Remuneration
  • Salary starting at $65,000, depending on experience.
