Title : Director of Human Resources

Compensation : $150,000 - $170,000 annually + 20% Bonus

Reports To : CFO

Position Summary :

The Director of Human Resources will be a key strategic partner, responsible for leading all HR initiatives and operations at the organization. This role requires a proven leader who can navigate the complexities of a recently acquired, fast-paced environment while supporting a long-tenured and diverse employee base. The Director will be critical in building robust HR systems and processes, driving change management, and fostering a positive and productive culture. A strong understanding of warehouse workforce dynamics and bilingual Spanish proficiency are essential.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Strategic HR Leadership : Partner with the CFO and leadership team to align HR strategy with overall business objectives, particularly in the context of post-acquisition integration and rapid growth.
  • HRIS Optimization : Maximize the utilization of ADP Workforce Now, enhancing its functionalities to streamline HR processes, improve data accuracy, and generate actionable insights.
  • Systems and Process Improvement : Design, develop, and implement scalable HR policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance HR efficiency, visibility, and compliance.
  • Talent Management & Development : Oversee talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and training and development programs.
  • Warehouse Workforce Dynamics : Develop and implement HR strategies tailored to the unique needs of a large warehouse workforce, including attendance policies, safety protocols, and engagement initiatives.
  • Change Management : Lead and support organizational change initiatives, including communication planning, manager coaching, and employee support during periods of rapid growth, restructuring, or M&A activities.
  • Employee Relations & Culture : Champion a positive and inclusive work environment. Address employee concerns, mediate disputes, and foster strong employee relations. Given that 70% of employees have been with the organization for 10+ years, focus on retaining and engaging this experienced workforce while integrating new talent.
  • Compliance : Ensure all HR practices and policies comply with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Team Leadership : Manage and mentor one direct report, the HR Manager, Irene, fostering her professional growth and development.
  • Bilingual Communication : Effectively communicate with and support a diverse workforce.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Bilingual Spanish proficiency (written and verbal) is required.
  • Prior HR leadership experience within the wholesale distribution, logistics, or multi-site operations industry is essential.
  • Demonstrated understanding of warehouse workforce dynamics, including hourly workers, attendance management, and safety protocols.
  • Proven experience in implementing or upgrading HRIS platforms (experience with ADP Workforce Now is highly desirable).
  • Strong track record of building and optimizing HR systems, processes, SOPs, KPIs, and HR analytics.
  • Exceptional change management skills, with experience aligning workforce strategy with evolving organizational structures (M&A, rapid growth, restructuring).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, including founders who remain heavily involved.
