POSITION OVERVIEW

As an HR Client Partner, you will advise, coach, and support management personnel in the management of human resources related operations, including but not limited to: employee and labor relations issues, interpretation of various employment/legal documentation, creation and delivery of training/development material, cross-functional HR team support, recruitment/selection process, attendance and return-to-work matters, including Duty to Accommodate.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Employee & Labour Relations: Coach and support management with respect to grievance processes, investigations, layoff and recall processes, and other employee-related issues involving performance, disciplinary action, and attendance management.
  • Stakeholders’ Engagement: Work as a strategic partner to multi-level stakeholder groups to ensure organizational initiatives are supported, liaising with unions and other HR teams to exchange information and process updates related to labor relations.
  • HR Policy Education and Training: Develop and present education and training on Human Resources topics such as Employee Relations / Labour Relations Collective Agreement Interpretation, New Managers Orientation, and HR programs/initiatives.
  • Project Management: Complete relevant documentation; identify, develop, and implement special projects and initiatives to improve HR/labor relations capacity.
  • Process / Practice Improvement: Monitor emerging labor/employee relations issues and identify opportunities for process improvements across the organization.
  • What You Bring to the Table :

    • Education: Completion of a Baccalaureate degree in a related discipline or a recognized Human Resource Management Certificate (equivalencies may be considered).
  • Experience: Minimum one (1) to three (3) years of Labour Relations experience in supporting a unionized environment, with a solid understanding of collective agreements and related legislation.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal, written, verbal communication, and listening skills. Discretion, diplomacy, tact, conflict resolution, negotiation, and group facilitation skills. Efficient investigation, analysis, problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Tools: Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet software applications.
  • Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to build strategic relationships and leverage professional connections to support organizational goals.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Understand relational dynamics within teams and work closely with HR, leadership, department heads, and stakeholders to ensure a unified approach to HR/labor relations and healthcare service delivery.
  • Passion: A genuine commitment to improving healthcare experiences for employees and patients, with a knack for leading HR/labor relations initiatives within a complex, multi-unionized organization.
  • Business Acumen and Resilience: Ability to understand healthcare and business environments, manage multiple priorities, pivot effectively, and ensure consistency with organizational goals.
