This isn’t a traditional in-house HR role. It’s more dynamic, more client-facing, and offers the chance to work across multiple businesses. You’ll build strong relationships, solve complex people challenges, and act as a trusted advisor to practice owners and leaders who rely on your guidance and expertise.

If you’re looking for variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to do meaningful, strategic work every day—this is the role for you.

Who Are You?

You’re a seasoned HR professional with a mix of strategic insight and practical know-how. You’re confident, proactive, and know how to manage multiple priorities without losing focus. You’re great with people, comfortable in a client-facing environment, and energized by helping businesses solve problems and grow stronger through better people practices.

You don’t just want a job—you want to make an impact. You take ownership of your work, communicate clearly, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You’re someone who sees challenges as opportunities and enjoys being the go-to person clients can trust.

We’re not looking for perfection—we’re looking for someone who is curious, driven, and excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of HR consulting in a specialized industry.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary HR advisor for multiple clients, building strong, trust-based relationships and understanding their unique business needs.

    • Policy creation, including employee handbooks and job descriptions.
    • Compensation reviews and employee engagement strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations for clients across North America, providing clients with proactive updates and solutions.
  • Conduct stay interviews, exit interviews, and other initiatives to improve employee retention and satisfaction.
  • Offer training and support for HR tools such as BambooHR, ensuring clients maximize their technology investments.
  • Support clients through organizational changes, including restructuring, terminations, and culture development.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to innovate and enhance HR services and client deliverables.
  • Act as a resource for best practices in HR, staying informed of trends and legal updates to ensure clients’ success.
Required Experience & Skills

  • Legally able to work in Canada and located in Calgary, AB.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as an HR professional, preferably in a client-facing or consulting capacity.
  • Experience in a management or leadership role is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CHRP) is preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-client environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HR tools, technologies (e.g., BambooHR), and best practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of employment laws and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
