Primary Objective of the Position
This full-time HR Business Partner role is based in Calgary. It involves working closely with management and staff to provide day-to-day HR support, offering real-time advice, guidance, and ensuring compliance with policies, processes, and legislation.
Essential Responsibilities
- Handle complex employee relations issues and progressive discipline confidently and efficiently.
- Provide guidance on compliance, processes, and legislative requirements.
- Collaborate with management to investigate and resolve issues consistently.
- Promote open communication between management and staff.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job fairs and outreach.
- Assist with injury, STD, LTD, and return-to-work procedures.
- Maintain documentation and coordinate reporting.
- Handle paperwork for staff changes and new hires.
- Coordinate onboarding and training for new employees.
- Ensure enforcement of company policies and procedures.
- Participate in health and safety initiatives and JHSC activities.
- Support research, analysis, and project implementation.
- Work closely with the HR Manager and liaise with head office HR.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in employee/labor relations.
- CPHR/CHRP/CHRL certification or equivalent; educational background in HR or Labour Relations.
- Experience in aviation, transportation, or logistics is an asset.
- Strong investigation, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of CLC Part II, AODA, Health and Safety legislation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven conflict resolution abilities.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems.
- Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Adaptability to shift work and managing multiple priorities.
- Discretion in handling sensitive information.
