University of Toronto—Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OOSE) is seeking an HR Advisor to provide administrative HR services within client departments. You will lead recruitment activities, support onboarding, and guide salary administration and job evaluation while ensuring collective agreement compliance.
The role requires collaboration with leadership and HR colleagues, handling confidential information and prioritizing equity, diversity and inclusion in a dynamic academic setting.

Under the general direction of the Director, Human Resources, and guided by a strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, the HR Advisor provides a range of administrative HR services to client departments at OISE. Working closely with the Director and Senior HR Consultant, the HR Advisor supports both unionized and non-unionized employee groups and provides guidance on recruitment, salary administration, job evaluation, and employee relations. Typical responsibilities will also include ensuring compliance with the hiring provisions of applicable collective agreements and employment policies; leading the development and implementation of effective talent acquisition strategy, playing a key role in the onboarding of new staff, and collaborating with others on HR planning efforts within client departments.
In addition to core responsibilities, the HR Advisor will also take on projects and undertake research on a wide variety of issues and topics related to administrative human resources at OISE. The responsibilities of the incumbent will continuously evolve, requiring flexibility, and a willingness to respond to the given priorities of the day. The HR Advisor will work collaboratively and cooperatively in a dynamic environment and as priorities evolve, demonstrates flexibility, adaptability, and sound judgment in responding to emerging needs and opportunities.
