Job summary

The Department of Statistical Sciences at the University of Toronto is seeking an experienced administrative professional to provide support for the undergraduate teaching programs. Reporting to the Manager, Undergraduate Programs, you will help with course materials, room bookings, and coordination.

The role requires an Advanced College Diploma, 2+ years supporting undergraduate programs, strong proofreading, databases, and excellent communication. The position is full-time, in-person at St.

Qualifications

  • Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years of recent experience providing undergraduate program support to faculty, TAs, and staff.
  • Experience proofreading and formatting lecture notes, problem sets, tests and exams.
  • Experience with databases and surveys and generating reports.
  • Experience working with undergraduates and providing information to students.
  • Experience organizing and planning meetings and events.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Access and ROSI.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.

The Department of Statistical Sciences is one of the top ten statistics departments in North America, with our faculty developing numerous important innovations in statistical science. Under the general supervision of the Manager, Undergraduate Programs, the incumbent is responsible for providing administrative support for the teaching of Statistical Sciences courses.

Your responsibilities will include

Essential Qualifications
  • Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years of recent and related experience providing undergraduate program support to university faculty, TAs, and staff in an undergraduate office.
  • Experience proofreading and formatting lecture notes, problem sets, tests and exams.
  • Demonstrated experience working with databases and surveys and generating reports.
  • Extensive experience working with undergraduates and providing information to students.
  • Experience in organizing and planning meetings and events.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Access and ROSI.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills .
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.
