Job summary

Coulson Aviation Inc in Port Alberni, BC is seeking an experienced Senior Recruiter to manage full-cycle recruitment for assigned positions and help build scalable talent-acquisition processes for a growing international organization.

The role combines hands-on sourcing and interviewing with developing recruitment strategy, employer branding, and workforce planning, with relocation assistance for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in human resources, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
• A Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) designation is preferred.
• At least seven years of recruitment or talent-acquisition experience.
• Experience developing, documenting, and improving recruitment processes, procedures, templates, and workflows.
• Ability to balance hands-on recruitment with longer-term process-improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruitment for assigned positions, from intake and sourcing through offer acceptance.
• Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, define position requirements, and develop effective recruitment strategies.
• Publish job postings and manage candidate pipelines across LinkedIn, Indeed, and other recruitment platforms.
• Proactively source, screen, interview, and assess qualified candidates.
• Coordinate interviews and maintain clear and timely communication with candidates and hiring teams.
• Deliver a professional and positive candidate experience throughout every stage of the recruitment process.
• Provide hiring managers with market insights, candidate feedback, and recruitment data to support informed hiring decisions.
• Support offer development, candidate negotiations and the transition to onboarding.
• Maintain complete and accurate hiring information within the applicant tracking system.
• Monitor recruitment activity and identify opportunities to improve hiring processes, timelines, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with Marketing and other internal partners on employer-branding and recruitment-marketing initiatives.
• Support broader talent-acquisition projects and hiring initiatives across the organization.

At Coulson Aviation, we operate, modify, and maintain a diverse fleet of specialized aircraft supporting aerial firefighting operations worldwide. Our fleet includes C-130 Hercules, Boeing 737 FIRELINERS™, Cessna Citation 550 and 560 aircraft, CH-47D Chinooks, and Sikorsky S-61 and S-76 helicopters. We operate across Canada, the United States, Australia, and Chile.

As our company continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Senior Recruiter to join our team onsite in Port Alberni, BC. In this role, you will manage full-cycle recruitment for assigned positions while helping develop the processes, tools, and strategies needed to support a growing international organization. This role is well suited to an experienced recruiter who enjoys both hands‑on recruitment and building practical, scalable talent‑acquisition processes.

This is a full-time, onsite position.Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates who do not currently reside in the Port Alberni area.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

WHAT YOU BRING:

• Experience developing, documenting, and improving recruitment processes, procedures, templates, and workflows.
• The ability to balance hands‑on recruitment responsibilities with longer‑term process‑improvement projects.
• Strong interviewing, candidate‑assessment, relationship‑building, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple vacancies, projects, and competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and Zoom, as well as ATS and HRIS platforms.
• A proactive, organized, and solutions‑focused approach to recruitment.
• Experience recruiting in the United States and/or Australia is considered an asset.
• Experience using ADP is considered an asset.
• Aviation, aerospace, technical, or skilled‑trades recruitment experience is strongly preferred.

Preference will be given to candidates with previous aviation recruitment experience.
