Job summary

IMP Group is seeking a Human Resource Generalist focused on Group Benefits and Employee Programs to join our Corporate HR team in Halifax. You will manage group benefits processes, retirement plan administration, and employee programs to support our diverse business divisions.

The role emphasizes excellent communication, confidentiality, and the ability to drive engagement across the organization with a focus on growth and best practices within HR policies.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resource Management (undergraduate degree/diploma with concentration in HR).
  • 3 years of professional work experience in a human resources environment.
  • Experience administering group benefits plans (health, dental, life insurance, LTD, AD&D, optional insurance) and group retirement plans.
  • Experience developing and maintaining employee program initiatives and communication strategies.
  • Proficiency in Windows OS and MS Office Suite Programs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use good judgement and discretion with highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize and multi-task projects to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare bi-weekly reconciliations for group benefits premiums; identify and resolve variances; monitor arrears, retroactive and premium overpayments and coordinate appropriate action with required teams / individuals.
  • Receive, review and allocate monthly group benefits billings for payment.
  • Administer various processes related to the group retirement program such as enrolments, terminations and contribution eligibility. Assist the Group Retirement Management Committee with all plan governance activities.
  • Act as first point of contact for business unit Human Resources / Payroll representatives for all group benefits and group retirement inquiries. Escalate issue with benefits carrier as needed.
  • Design, deliver and continuously improve employee programs such as wellness initiatives, recognition and rewards programs and group benefits education / awareness campaigns.
  • Support initiatives that enhance employee engagement, workplace culture and inclusion.
  • Maintain various benefits related documents such as plan summaries, benefits rate sheets and group policies. Continuously review processes for improvements and efficiencies.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting on various HR statistics and metrics.
  • Assist with the implementation and execution of Corporate HR goals and objectives.

What You Need to Succeed:
